Rebekah Massie brought her 10-year-old daughter to a city council meeting in Surprise, Arizona, to show her the importance of speaking up when the government does something you disagree with.

But in a shocking abuse of power, the mayor of Surprise called in the police after Rebekah criticized a public official’s pay raise.

Rebekah was pushed up against a wall and handcuffed in front of her 10-year-old daughter, simply for exercising her right to free speech.

This is not just an attack on an individual: It's an attack on everyone who believes in freedom of speech and democracy.

That’s why we’re helping Rebekah sue the city of Surprise for its blatant attempt to silence her voice.

But we need your help. Join the fight to ensure that no one else’s free speech rights are violated.
